The Photoshoot

An experience to remember

From the moment you get in touch to the day your finished artwork arrives, Helena is with you every step of the way. There are no rushing clocks, no rigid shot lists – just time and space for your animal to be themselves, and for something genuinely beautiful to unfold.

Here’s how the experience works.

The journey
From first contact to finished artwork
Stage one
Getting to know you
As soon as Helena receives your booking request she will be in touch by email or phone. She loves to find out all about your dog or horse before the session - their personality, their quirks, what makes them tick. The more she knows, the more the experience can be designed around them.
Stage two
Confirming your session
Once you have agreed on a date, Helena will send over the contract and booking fee to secure your session. A few days before, she will be in touch again to confirm the time and location, and to make sure you have everything you need.
Stage three
On the day itself
Helena will begin by spending a little time with you and your animal - no rushing, just letting everyone settle. There are no time pressures. If your dog decides to be a dog, that is absolutely fine. Helena's experience means she will always find the magic in the moment, whatever the session brings.
Stage four
The edit & retouching
After your session, Helena carefully goes through every image, selecting and preparing the very best for you to view. The retouching is something she puts enormous personal value in - creating a soft, natural feel that lets your animal's true character radiate.
Stage five
Choosing your finished pieces
Once your images are ready, Helena will arrange a viewing at a time that suits you. Together you will go through your favourites and decide how you would like to display them - whether that is a curated package, digital images in a wooden presentation box, or a statement piece of wall art.

What to expect on the day

No time pressure

Helena’s sessions are deliberately unhurried. There is no clock ticking – just space for things to unfold naturally at your animal’s pace.

Your pet leads

Don’t worry if your dog won’t sit still or your horse has a view on where they’d rather be. Helena works with your animal, not against them.

Beautiful results, always

Whatever the session brings, Helena’s experience and intuition mean you will always leave with images that genuinely move you.
